My work explores our relationship with nature. They express our emotional response to, as well as ecological and sustainability concerns of the natural world. Artworks express ideas offering viewers a perspective to ponder about our environment and the state of nature. They also seek to encourage viewers establish a stronger connection with nature.
My art practice includes sculpture, public art, site-specific installations and painting. I explore a wide range of materials in sculpture and installations depending on the concept of the work and the context of the place. Sculpture materials have included bronze, aluminum, clay, wood and glass. Elemental materials include stone, gravels, slate, bog root, plant and water.

2010 West Lothian Grassroots Public Art Commission, Armadale
Christie worked closely with the local community groups to create a wellness sculpture garden in the community centre providing a tranquil and contemplative space for many user groups and a community known for chaotic lifestyles and dispirited frame of mind. The commission was specifically for a Zen inspired design, which the community believe that would bring them the calmness effect they need. Sculpture interventions connect with the community to focus on their local history and industrial heritage of the town as well as wellbeing.
