During my studies at Art College my work began as a direct reflection of my thoughts and emotions paying particular attention to the surroundings in my home and the everyday objects which encircled me.  Almost like an autobiography or a biography, my work related to my experiences, thoughts and emotions, ever changing and never ending. The works focus exclusively with light and dark and the effect it has on everyday items within my home.

Since leaving Art College I have continued to use charcoal as a favoured medium producing new works to be shown in various Art Galleries around the UK.  I am still predominantly working with charcoal however I have also embraced oils. My subjects vary from still life to figurative.  My portraits which are mostly life size charcoal drawings dispense with the relationship between myself and the sitter.  I prefer to catch my subjects unaware, presenting their most private moments, those spent alone.   I am continually striving for more dramatic works. In particular, taking everyday objects in my still life pieces and turning them into something more dramatic by simply altering the lighting in the room.
